Moms Demand Action now attacking Kroger

Chipotle, Target, Starbucks, Jack and the Box. One tends to wonder who will be their next victim?

Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America is now targeting Kroger, the largest supermarket retailer, and demands that they rethink their policy to allow open carry of firearms in their stores.

How as a mother, am I supposed to know if the person with a loaded AR-15 is a gun extremist trying to make a political statement or if I should duck and cover? Kroger shouldn’t leave that ambiguous”

-Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action, told The Daily Beast.

Kroger officials have given no statements indicating that they will ban guns in their stores.

Kroger’s policy is to follow state and local laws, and we have requested that all of our customers be respectful of other customers and our associates when shopping in our stores. We recognize the sincerity of beliefs held by people on both sides of the gun issue, which we believe is a public policy best determined by lawmakers.

-Kroger spokeswoman Rachael Betzler said Thursday.

Shannon Watts believes that the store should disregard state and local laws when they aren’t protecting children and families. Honestly, she couldn’t be more wrong. Allowing open carry IS protecting children and families. When a criminal comes into a store armed most people would want a good guy with a gun. Oh wait. Shannon doesn’t think they exist. Just in case you’re in the crazy cab with her, I have provided a few links below just to save time on my rantings.

  1. Man looks for someone to kill randomly at hotel in San Antonio. Armed citizen steps in and saves the day.
  2. Good guy with a gun wins in Chicago.
  3. Armed criminal bets citizen doesn’t have a gun and guessed wrong. (This shows that criminals have NO idea. Ever consider that they’ll think twice knowing that anyone could be carrying?)
  4. Armed South Carolina resident puts a stop to a possible killing spree.
  5. What happened in Vegas doesn’t stay in Vegas. Sorry Shannon.
  6. School shooter stopped in less than 60 seconds thanks to good guys with guns.
  7. Armed citizen stops robber and holds him at gun point in parking lot until police arrive.

Moms Demand doesn’t talk about these because well, that would make them look uninformed.

Shannon Watts also issued a statement saying that they intend to deliver petitions to other Kroger-owned stores such as Harris Teeter, Fry’s, and others. If these companies don’t enact gun bans, Moms Demand Action threatens to post open carry images on Twitter and attack via social media.

When are these stores going to stop letting some silly organization bully them on the web? I thought that liberals were against cyber bullying? Kroger is not causing any harm by allowing their customers to follow state and local laws.

Homeowner Uses Gun in Self-Defense After Wife and Kid Shot By Armed Robber

Founder of Mom’s Demand Action for Gun Sense in America Shannon Watts claimed that a good guy with a gun never stops the bad guy. Well, funny thing is, Shannon is dead wrong. Will the good guy ALWAYS stop the bad guy? No, this is real life and not a movie. Bad things happen to good people, BUT that does not mean that they never win.

This past Monday night in Valdosta, GA, police responded to a home robbery on Emory Drive after a woman and her child were shot. Upon hearing all of the commotion, her husband grabbed his gun and fired at 2 (not 1, but 2) armed black men.

Police have evidence to support that the 2 men shot were not only involved in the robbery on Monday, but 2 other robberies in the area as well.

The son has been released from the hospital. The wife has not yet been released but shows signs of a full recovery.

Watts made this comment in response to a question from CNN host Victor Blackwell.

Blackwell said:

I want to challenge you on something Shannon. Wayne LaPierre, executive director of the NRA, after Sandy Hook, said the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. And I think, essentially [what guns rights proponents are saying] is [they] want their wives to be able to carry–to be the good person with the gun. Is there an example in school shootings or a mall shooting or these public facilities, where that has been wrong? Where a bad guy with a gun has been stopped in any other way or by a person other than a law enforcement officer with a gun or by killing himself?

Watts responded: “This has never happened. Data shows it doesn’t happen.”

Data shows it doesn’t happen? Hmm, that’s interesting because I have found TONS of data showing it does. Do you mind sharing your ‘data’? Sorry Shannon, but it looks like your lack of fact-checking has got you looking like an idiot yet again.

Have There REALLY Been 74 Mass School Shootings Since Newtown?

If you have been doing as little as surfing the web these past few days, I am sure you’ve stumbled across liberal media claiming that there have been 74 school shootings since Newtown. I found this a little hard to believe so I started doing some searching of my own to check the facts (which apparently people don’t do anymore).

Everytown school shootings

My first find was a journalist by the name of Charles Johnson, who has been looking at the underlying data to support Mom’s Demand Action’s claims.

Second find: Even CNN determined that the number is more like 15. Which I don’t know if Mom’s Demand Action can count but that is WAY off from 75. CNN! A well-known liberal news source!

So much for 74 shootings. Does Mayor Bloomberg care about his credibility at all? Why is no one fighting these false claims made by founder of Mom’s Demand Action, Shannon Watts, and Erika Soto Lamb from Everytown? Why are we allowing people to continually supply the media with deceitful and false information? Worst thing is, people are buying into it!

Now I wouldn’t go as far as to say these incidents are/were fake because they happened. However, comparing a suicide, an accidental firing, or a non-fatal shot to the Newtown shooting is not the same BUT they want you to THINK it is.

I reblogged this article because it goes deeper into each shooting that these gun control groups keep using to manipulate public opinion.

The death toll for all of these shootings combined compares to the average weekend in Chicago at 31 fatalities. Of those thirty one lost lives ten were non-students who were found/killed on school property after hours , eight were suicides , three were the perpetrators themselves and one was a criminal killed in self-defense which leaves nine students and/or teachers killed .

It goes without saying that any loss of life is a tragedy but at the same time it is just as unseemly to dishonestly climb atop the graves of these unfortunate lost souls and attempt to gain cheap political points in order to further one’s personal agenda and that is what is taking place here .

Bloomberg and his allies , like the progressives in general , are attempting to tug at the heartstrings and push their legislative goals wrapped as a moral imperative that is not to be questioned under pain of being called uncaring . It’s just another card out of the “racist” deck cavalry . Whenever they are losing an argument on the merits they jump up , knock the cards from the table and cry “have you no decency” ?

Just an aside before we leave you . The number of children that die at the hands of their parents every year in America dwarves the numbers above . Yes , you read correctly . It is estimated that somewhere in the neighborhood of 400 children under the age of five are killed each year by their parents. Think about that before deciding that school shootings are some sort of epidemic

What do you think? Should all 74 incidents be consider “mass school shootings”?
