Why Liberals Are In The Wrong Mindset About Guns

Ronald Reagan once said:

It isn’t so much that liberals are ignorant. It’s just that they know so many things that aren’t so.

Whenever I look at current research, surveys, similar past laws, current laws, etc I ask myself “why don’t liberals get it? I mean the information is all there!” I believe the truth is that liberals are constantly being fed falsified information to support an agenda. If you feel that you know everything already, why would you feel the need to look at research, journals, history, or past/present/future laws?

I think about why I started this blog in the first place. Moving from Texas to the DC area was a huge change for me. I wasn’t used to homeless men threatening to shoot me and my family on the street in the middle of the day if we didn’t give him money (might I add, he finished this sentence with “Merry Christmas”). I wasn’t used to hearing about shootings or how crime rates are increasing. I wasn’t used to hearing about violent break-ins. I wasn’t used to the fear that sweeps over me every time I walk to my car by myself at night after meeting my husband for dinner. Fact of the matter is, I wanted to know that in a dangerous situation, I could rely on more than a can of mace to protect myself.

Once I came to the conclusion that I should get a gun and learn proper gun safety, I then started to gain interest in current events pertaining to guns. But what if I was a liberal? What if I had liberal parents, liberal grandparents, and a liberal husband? What if from day 1, I had it engraved in my brain that guns were dangerous? In that case, I wouldn’t have looked into owning a gun as means to protect myself. Which would mean that I wouldn’t have gained interest in current laws and wouldn’t be the gun advocate that I am today. What’s the difference between me and that liberal? I didn’t assume that my prior knowledge of guns was correct. In fact, my research and follow-up has only further validated my previous claims that guns are for protection.

When I said “I want to get a gun”, it was natural to me because I was in that mindset based on previous/current knowledge. Liberals come from a different background or mindset and believe whole-heartedly that guns are not safe. Why? Because every time there is a tragedy, anti-gun advocates blame the gun instead of the shooter, which in turn puts fear in the hearts of people who are not well-informed. And because people FEAR guns, they aren’t willing to do research to validate statements they hear from people like Obama and Feinstein.

The main reason for this blog is because I want to share research findings and compare current events to that of past ones in a way that makes freedom to own and carry easy to digest. Along the way I choose to provide entertaining videos and stories to show you that guns aren’t dangerous in the hands of law-abiding citizens, so why take them away from them? Along the way, I take emails, comments, and tweets to heart because I can’t change your opinion if I don’t understand where you’re coming from.

What do you, the gun control advocate, have to say about research findings showing that stricter gun control laws increase gun-related crimes?

Have you, the gun control advocate, ever learned how to properly shoot a gun and took courses to educate yourself of gun safety?

How will laws restricting law-abiding citizens from owning/carrying a gun stop criminals from conducting in mass shootings like Aurora or the elementary school in Newton?

If you don’t know how to answer these questions, how can you continue to stand up against something that you cannot logically defend? Shootings like this cause anger, heartache, frustration, confusion, sadness. These are all emotion-based and do not void the fact the research shows that stricter gun laws increase gun-related crime.

Basing your arguments on emotion rather than logic and fact does not put you in the proper mindset. Educate yourselves and review the data that Obama and other anti-gun advocates want to keep from you. Maybe then you will see that law-abiding citizens are not the problem.

Democratic Senator Charged In Gun Trafficking Scheme With Muslim Rebels

California State Senator and gun-control advocate, Leland Yee, has been indicted on charges related to gun trafficking. FBI Special Agent, Emmanuel Pascua, filed a 137 page sworn affidavit (view full version here) outlining his charges, which included that Yee’s gun trafficking involved Muslim rebels in the Philippines, or more specifically, Mindanao.

According to the affidavit, Keith Jackson (political consultant and Yee’s alleged partner in crime) contacted the undercover FBI agent on March 4, 2014 to set up a meeting and discuss Yee’s request to find a new weapons supplier. At the meeting the next day, the FBI agent identified Dr. LIM as the point of contact in the weapons deal between the Yee and the Philippines.

During the meeting between Yee and the undercover agent, Senator Yee explained how Dr. LIM was originally from the Mindanao region and that Muslim rebels had no issue with kidnapping, murdering, or holding individuals for ransom in exchange for money in order to successfully overthrow their government.

The undercover agent and Yee then went on to discuss weapons such as shoulder-fire missles and/or rocks and semi-automatics. Yee was told he would be given $2 million in cash to pay for high-powered artillery and the shipment of weapons to North Africa (most likely to be sold to Muslim rebels for the same reason).

Why would someone do this? The surface answer is simple– Yee is running for CA Secretary of State. Because of this, he willingly engaged in soliciting illegal campaign donations in exchange for trafficking firearms from Russia to the US to sell to Muslim rebels in the Philippines. But what about what’s underneath? So many people can easily forget about the whole thing in a couple of weeks because they don’t see that there is an underlying problem here.

Look at page 101 of the affidavit where Yee claimed that the Philippine government was secretly funding Muslim groups in order to create a distraction from government corruption. Do these points not add up to something strangely similar to the gun-running operation that put weapons staight into the hands of Mexican drug cartels? Wake up people. You have a Democratic State Senator who is willing to aid an Islamist terrorist group all for the sake of funding his own campaign. He was caught and his story is out in the open, but are you honestly not willing to admit there are most likely more of the same scumbags out there that our state/country elected?! Do you not think there was another motive behind this? This gun-control advocate lied through his teeth. He doesn’t oppose guns, he opposes guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens!

Lies, hypocrisy, deceipt. All reasons why we need to start asking why senators, congressmen, law makers, and our president all want to disarm America.

Scary thing is, it is possible that like Yee, we have more “leaders” trying to get you to buy into the lies about gun violence. Why? So that you’ll fight their battle to disarm America. Why? Because like the Muslim rebels in the Philippines, we have people in power who want to overthrow a large body. It looks to me that in America’s case it’s not the government these leaders are looking to destroy, it’s the people.

Is Your Fear of Guns Clouding Your Judgement?

SO many people are absolutely petrified of guns, which in turn eliminates any if not all trace of logic in a gun debate. Anti-gun advocates are so set on trying to find “facts” to fit their agenda but the truth is, they’re only fueling the fire with their own fears.

What is fear? Let’s take the first definition from Dictionary.com.

A distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain, whether the threat is real or imagined; the feeling or condition of being afraid.

“Whether the threat is real or imagined”. I like that. What argument do we hear most often as to why people want gun-control? They want it because guns don’t make them ‘feel’ safe. Anti-gun advocates have it in their heads that guns make their world unsafe. There’s that word again! Now let’s look at FACT. Fact is, guns DO make you safe. Millions of people’s lives have been saved BECAUSE OF GUNS. Once again, if you’re in danger, who do you call? Don’t you call the police? And what do you expect them to do? Use their guns to save you.

Just because you are afraid of something doesn’t mean it is dangerous or meant to cause you harm. It also doesn’t mean that it won’t cause you harm just because you’re not afraid. Do you fear you’ll get in a car accident every day when you go to work? Do you fear your slice your hand every time you’re chopping vegetables? Do you fear you’ll drown every time you go to the swimming pool? Truth is, you probably have feared these things before once in your life but think about when. Was it when you first started learning or if you’ve never done it before? Once you learned how to swim, you were/are no longer afraid to drown. Once you learn to drive, it becomes second nature and you’re no longer terrified of dying in an accident. Once you get comfortable chopping vegetables, you no longer have horrific thoughts of chopping off your fingers or stabbing yourself.  Yet, just because you’re not afraid doesn’t mean these things can’t happen to you. Same applies for the opposite, just because you’re afraid doesn’t mean they will. Same applies for guns. People are afraid of guns because they don’t know anything about how to operate them properly or what to do in a situation when they’re around guns.

Why are people afraid of guns? “Because guns were made for one purpose, to kill people”. I hate this response more than anything and it is used as if it were a valid argument. Nothing in this world is made for only one purpose, including guns. Guns were made for protection and hunting. They are associated with murder because people have used them for such purposes, but look at the mass amounts of people who’s lives were saved because someone else had a gun. Just because someone owns a gun, doesn’t mean they’re going to harm you or anyone you love, no matter how bad you fear it.

STOP BASING YOUR GUN CONTROL ARGUMENTS ON YOUR FEARS THAT IT WILL HAPPEN. Emotions do not just turn into fact. You want to make your world a safer place? Educate yourself and your families.

I just wish that anti-gun fanatics would go and shoot a gun before spouting off their liberal non-sense. How many liberals do you think have actually SHOT a gun before? VERY very few, and that shows in the small percentage of liberals that own guns. Look, I get it. I was terrified of guns before I knew how to handle them. I grew up around a grandpa that has a room full of hunting rifles and I was NEVER TO GO IN THAT ROOM. That made me fear them because I was taught from the get-go that they were dangerous. Truth of the matter is, they wouldn’t have gone off just because I walked into the room. That was how I was made to feel. Further proof that feelings should not be a determining factor when it comes to creating laws. FACT IS, guns don’t just “go off”. FACT IS, guns are only dangerous if they are in the hands of a dangerous person. FACT IS, we have a constitutional right to protect ourselves. Whether it be from criminals, attackers, or unlawful government. FACT IS, I don’t want to hear a word about “gun-control” from someone who has never taken 10 seconds to learn gun safety and proper handling. 9 times out of 10, once you educate yourself on how to handle and shoot a firearm, you’ll no longer “feel” afraid. You may feel a little ignorant that all of these so-called “truths” about gun-violence that you advocated so strongly for are false, but at least you won’t feel afraid.

Now tell me, how do you make a valid argument based off of your emotions? You don’t. YOU BASE ARGUMENTS ON FACTS.
