Everytown Advertisement Proves Anti-Gun Policies Are MORE Dangerous for Women

Bloomberg’s new anti-gun organization Everytown released this new advertisement in hopes that it would encourage people to contact their legislators and get guns out of the hands of domestic abusers. Fine, I get that and I would even agree with it BUT what happens when these criminals disobey laws? What happens when they get a hold of a gun illegally?

In this advertisement, the woman has a restraining order against her ex-husband. If he were going to follow laws, wouldn’t he have obeyed the law stating that he is not allowed to come near her? A piece of paper and a phone call to the police does nothing but create a false sense of hope and ultimately leaves women in these situations defenseless.

Everytown has made it clear on multiple occasions that their main target is women. They want women to feel less vulnerable, like they are no longer at risk of being a victim to violent criminals. Yet, what did this video show you? This advertisement PROVES that the anti-gun policies that Everytown stands behind are actually making women MORE vulnerable. Let’s say he didn’t have a gun. Do you honestly think he wouldn’t have come crashing through the same door with a different weapon of choice? And then what would she do? Guns aren’t the problem in this situation, it’s the criminal who is intending to do great harm.

Now, in either case, what would have it been like if the woman had a gun? Wouldn’t she have been able to protect her and her son the second her crazed ex-husband came banging on the door? But of course they don’t want to advertise for that!

Ladies, if you don’t want to feel vulnerable then get a gun. Making more laws is not going to help you, it will actually just make things worse. If you’re for equality, then put yourself on offense with EQUAL force. What’s a restraining order and a call to the police going to do when someone confronts you with a weapon? Absolutely nothing.

Gun Free Zone Leaves 2 Starbucks Employees in Intensive Care

“Just before 5:30 a.m. Monday, employees of the Starbucks in the 1800 block of W. Broad St. called police about a suspicious man outside the store. According to police, the suspect then ran into the business, and attacked the two employees,” nbc12.com reports. “Both baristas sustained facial injuries, with the suspect kicking an officer who arrived on scene. A 65-year-old employee is now facing a difficult recovery from serious injuries, and remains at VCU Medical Center in intensive care. Police reported that the suspect . . . stole no items or money during the incident, with the Starbucks reopening a short time later.”

So, tell me again how disarming the public magically gets rid of ‘gun violence’? Do you think this thug gave any thought to Starbucks’ CEO Howard Shultz’ recent request to leave legally carried guns at home? This guy KNEW that the customers and employees are not allowed to practice their constitutional right to bear arms in this coffee shop. We can give a big thanks to Mom’s Demand Action for Gun Sense in America for that one. Where are their opinions now? Where are their trending social media hashtags in response to this?

‘Gun free zones’ are only ‘gun free’ for the people who can protect you in a situation like this. Nothing seemed to have stopped this guy from walking in and hurting people.

Open Carry in Public Places: Thoughts and Experience

After I got off of work, I walked over to our local grocery store to pick up some items for dinner. As I was walking around I noticed a man with a shoulder holster. Once I realized what it was, I took a peak at his side and saw a gun tucked underneath his arm. I then looked up to see him giving me a weird look, smiled and walked away. I thought more about this as I was finishing up shopping for the items on my list. If I would have seen this man even 6 months ago, I probably would have FREAKED out. Honestly, I probably would have felt a pit in my stomach, left my items on a shelf and left. So I thought, why did I react differently this time? I was interested to know what type of pistol he had and was fascinated by the fact that he was openly carrying it in a grocery store (holstered obviously, not LITERALLY carrying it just in case I needed to clarify). Well, I can answer this in one word: Education. I have consistently educated myself on proper gun handling and safety. I did not see this guy as a threat to me BECAUSE his gun was properly holstered. People FEAR guns which is why they feel the need to control ownership by implementing gun carry laws. In most cases, people fear what they don’t understand, which is why my reaction was different than if this same exact situation happened to me in the recent past. I no longer fear them because I understand them.

I have heard many arguments against open and concealed carry. Here is one I think we’ve all heard: “How am I supposed to know the difference between a law-abiding citizen carrying his/her gun and a mass shooter?” There are many different ways, one being the example I mentioned above. If you see a customer walking in with his/her gun holstered, they aren’t breaking any rules (unless otherwise stated by the business) and most likely aren’t there to hurt anyone. Now, if someone walks in, finger on the trigger and a crazy look on their face, well you may just have a problem. But can you see the difference here? Am I saying that no mass murderer EVER will have his/her gun holstered? No, BUT I am saying that it is highly unlikely.

Next, I wonder why people are against open carry. People get REALLY freaked by seeing a gun, even if it is holstered. My question is, wouldn’t you anti-gun people rather SEE someone’s gun? I would think you would be more freaked out by not knowing if someone has one or not. But I guess ignorance is bliss.

Anyways, enough with my little rant of the day. I wish I would have gotten a picture with this guy to show people that gun owners who are practicing proper gun safety and holstering are not the people you should be concerned with, BUT I didn’t want to seem more like I creeper than I already had by eyeing his weapon. Whoops..

What are your thoughts?

Homeowner Uses Gun in Self-Defense After Wife and Kid Shot By Armed Robber

Founder of Mom’s Demand Action for Gun Sense in America Shannon Watts claimed that a good guy with a gun never stops the bad guy. Well, funny thing is, Shannon is dead wrong. Will the good guy ALWAYS stop the bad guy? No, this is real life and not a movie. Bad things happen to good people, BUT that does not mean that they never win.

This past Monday night in Valdosta, GA, police responded to a home robbery on Emory Drive after a woman and her child were shot. Upon hearing all of the commotion, her husband grabbed his gun and fired at 2 (not 1, but 2) armed black men.

Police have evidence to support that the 2 men shot were not only involved in the robbery on Monday, but 2 other robberies in the area as well.

The son has been released from the hospital. The wife has not yet been released but shows signs of a full recovery.

Read the full story here. Also, if you want to check out more shootings in which the good guy with a gun won, check our Breitbart.

Watts made this comment in response to a question from CNN host Victor Blackwell.

Blackwell said:

I want to challenge you on something Shannon. Wayne LaPierre, executive director of the NRA, after Sandy Hook, said the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. And I think, essentially [what guns rights proponents are saying] is [they] want their wives to be able to carry–to be the good person with the gun. Is there an example in school shootings or a mall shooting or these public facilities, where that has been wrong? Where a bad guy with a gun has been stopped in any other way or by a person other than a law enforcement officer with a gun or by killing himself?

Watts responded: “This has never happened. Data shows it doesn’t happen.”

Data shows it doesn’t happen? Hmm, that’s interesting because I have found TONS of data showing it does. Do you mind sharing your ‘data’? Sorry Shannon, but it looks like your lack of fact-checking has got you looking like an idiot yet again.

Have There REALLY Been 74 Mass School Shootings Since Newtown?

If you have been doing as little as surfing the web these past few days, I am sure you’ve stumbled across liberal media claiming that there have been 74 school shootings since Newtown. I found this a little hard to believe so I started doing some searching of my own to check the facts (which apparently people don’t do anymore).

Everytown school shootings

My first find was a journalist by the name of Charles Johnson, who has been looking at the underlying data to support Mom’s Demand Action’s claims.

Screen shot 2014-06-12 at 10.41.33 PM Screen shot 2014-06-12 at 10.41.50 PM Screen shot 2014-06-12 at 10.42.02 PM Screen shot 2014-06-12 at 10.42.12 PM Screen shot 2014-06-12 at 10.43.03 PM Screen shot 2014-06-12 at 10.43.26 PM Screen shot 2014-06-12 at 10.43.40 PM

Second find: Even CNN determined that the number is more like 15. Which I don’t know if Mom’s Demand Action can count but that is WAY off from 75. CNN! A well-known liberal news source!

So much for 74 shootings. Does Mayor Bloomberg care about his credibility at all? Why is no one fighting these false claims made by founder of Mom’s Demand Action, Shannon Watts, and Erika Soto Lamb from Everytown? Why are we allowing people to continually supply the media with deceitful and false information? Worst thing is, people are buying into it!

Now I wouldn’t go as far as to say these incidents are/were fake because they happened. However, comparing a suicide, an accidental firing, or a non-fatal shot to the Newtown shooting is not the same BUT they want you to THINK it is.

I reblogged this article because it goes deeper into each shooting that these gun control groups keep using to manipulate public opinion.

The death toll for all of these shootings combined compares to the average weekend in Chicago at 31 fatalities. Of those thirty one lost lives ten were non-students who were found/killed on school property after hours , eight were suicides , three were the perpetrators themselves and one was a criminal killed in self-defense which leaves nine students and/or teachers killed .

It goes without saying that any loss of life is a tragedy but at the same time it is just as unseemly to dishonestly climb atop the graves of these unfortunate lost souls and attempt to gain cheap political points in order to further one’s personal agenda and that is what is taking place here .

Bloomberg and his allies , like the progressives in general , are attempting to tug at the heartstrings and push their legislative goals wrapped as a moral imperative that is not to be questioned under pain of being called uncaring . It’s just another card out of the “racist” deck cavalry . Whenever they are losing an argument on the merits they jump up , knock the cards from the table and cry “have you no decency” ?

Just an aside before we leave you . The number of children that die at the hands of their parents every year in America dwarves the numbers above . Yes , you read correctly . It is estimated that somewhere in the neighborhood of 400 children under the age of five are killed each year by their parents. Think about that before deciding that school shootings are some sort of epidemic

What do you think? Should all 74 incidents be consider “mass school shootings”?

Recent Article Asks Gun Owners What Happened in Vegas

A recent article posted in wake of the Las Vegas shooting asks ‘gun nuts’ what they have to say now that a good guy with a gun was killed. Well, luckily for them, I usually have loads to say.

First of all, the title of that article is COMPLETELY insensitive. Mr. Wilcox had a gun and was willing to defend himself as well as others instead of sitting around in a fettle position doing nothing. Had he known about the second shooter (Jerad’s wife Amanda), this could have ended differently. What comments would the liberals have then on concealed carry? I’m curious to know because my best guess is there wouldn’t be any comments. Heck, it’s possible that the media wouldn’t even have covered it. Instead, the media zooms in on this event in hopes to draw attention away from the deaths in Chicago, where up until recently only cops and criminals had guns.

Now, THINK for once about what we say about concealed carry. We say that it serves as a deterrent and can help PREVENT gun related crimes. Prevent being the key word here. It is irrational to think that no one will be hurt/killed ever. We have sick people in this world who don’t know or care about the value of a human life. However, more guns in the hands of the good guys will PREVENT more crimes from happening. Being armed gives an individual a better chance to stop a deadly attack. That’s what we’ve always said.

Next, all of you anti-gun advocates talk about how we should rely on police protection in situations like this. Let me ask you this- where were the police when Mr. Wilcox was shot trying to defend innocent people? Where are the police during all the gun-related crimes committed in Chicago on a daily basis? Mr. Wilcox took this into his own hands because he had a defensive weapon and there was no one else around to defend him. A second shooter can take anyone off guard, including the 2 officers that were killed. He didn’t know she was a threat because her gun was hidden, which is the only reason this situation ended the way it did.

If everyone carried concealed, there would have been multiple people who could have drawn their weapons to the killers. Heck, it probably would have ended before they even left the pizza place had there been good guys with guns.

Finally, I am tired of seeing ‘Mass Shooting’ thrown across the screen. Misuse of terms by the media is one of the main reasons America thinks the gun homicide is increasing instead of decreasing. As horrible as it is that honorable men lost their lives, this is in no means a ‘mass’ shooting. The Obama Administration and organizations like Mom’s Demand like to use public shootings and label them as mass shootings to scare the public into thinking things are way worse than they actually are. Haven’t you heard the Obama administration claim “there have been 23 mass shootings since Sandy Hook”? That isn’t true even when looking at the FBI definition of ‘mass murder’ (need I point out that they don’t actually define how many deaths to be consider ‘mass shooting’). Anyway, for arguments sake I will use the FBI definition of mass murder which is ‘a single incident in which a perpetrator kills 4 or more people not including his or herself’.

Let’s take this recent shooting for example. 3 innocent people died; 2 police officers and Joseph Wilcox. News sites are saying there are 5 fatalities because they are including the deaths of Jared and Amanda Miller. Why are they including the shooters’ fatalities? Because then they can classify this event as a ‘mass shooting’. See how terms are being misused to manipulate you? Newton- THAT is a mass shooting. Aurora- THAT is a mass shooting. Las Vegas? Not a mass shooting and I am sure you’ll find the same pattern if you look into other recent events.

Obama Openly Lies About Background Checks to the Media

Wait..what?! What rock are these people hiding under?

First lie:

My biggest frustration so far is that this society has not been willing to take some basic steps to keep guns out of the hands of people who can do just unbelievable damage.

Obama, let’s be real here. First of all, your ‘basic steps’ are not aimed at keeping guns out of the hands of criminals. Your ‘basic steps’ are aimed to disarm law-abiding citizens. Secondly, I HIGHLY doubt this is your biggest frustration as president. If it is, then you have a serious mental issue. What about Benghazi? Fast and Furious? ObamaCare? Driving our country into severe debt? TRADING 5 ISLAMIC TERRORISTS FOR A TRAITOR?

Second lie:

We’re the only developed country on earth where this happens.

FALSE. We are not the only developed country that is exposed to gun crime. How about the 69 killed on Utøya Island in Norway? Or how about the gunmen that shot and killed 16 teens at a school in Germany? Oh and let’s not forget the fact that Germany is considered to have the STRICTEST gun control laws in the WORLD.

Third lie:

Our levels of gun violence are off the charts.

Also not true. Gun homicides and gun-related crimes have actually DECREASED by 50% in the past 20 years. In my previous posts, I provide more data and information, including a study showing that a majority of American citizens believe gun crime has increased (gee, I wonder why).

But wait! If our levels of gun violence are “off the charts”, than why do you see in this video that “the world is less violent than it has ever been”? Because I am pretty sure you aren’t talking about Iraq, The Russian/Ukrainian border, Libya, Egypt, the soccer riots in Brazil, the girls in Nigeria, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Or what about all of the Christians being slaughtered through out the Middle East? Surely you couldn’t be talking about that.

Fourth lie (start at marker 1:23):

I respect gun rights. But the idea, for example, that we couldn’t even get a background check bill in, to make sure that if you’re going to buy a weapon you have to actually go through a fairly rigorous process so that we know who you are, so that you can’t just walk up to a store, and, um, buy a semi-automatic weapon… um, it makes no sense.

Now listen (or read..) closely. ALL FIREARM PURCHASES FROM GUN STORES, RETAIL CHAINS, PAWN SHOPS, GUN SHOWS FROM FEDERAL FIREARMS LICENSEES, DEALERS, AND TRANSFERS REQUIRE A BACKGROUND CHECK. It’s called the Brady Bill, which went into effect in 1993 and requires that background checks are conducted before purchasing a firearm.

And lie number 5:

I respect gun rights.

HA! Obama doesn’t respect anything in the Constitution which is why New York Rep. Jose Serrano, a Democrat and ally of Obama’s, introduced a bill(H.J.RES.5) proposing the repeal of the 22nd amendment, which limits presidents to only 2 terms. He most certainly doesn’t respect gun rights. If he did, he wouldn’t be lying to the public to promote his agenda. Ok, so this leaves 5 lies in under 2 minutes..When are you all going to get mad? This guy BLATANTLY lies to your face every time he opens his mouth. WAKE UP, AMERICA!

Gun Control Increases Rate For Violent Crimes and Homicides

Sorry libs, I really love showing REAL data to support my claims. Look at the number of homicides in DC after making a gun ban effective. It sure does spike up pretty high! Then as soon as the ban is retracted, boom. During the years in which the D.C. handgun ban and trigger lock law was in effect, the Washington, D.C. murder rate averaged 73% higher than it was at the outset of the law

Now on to Chicago.. Since the outset of the Chicago handgun ban, the percentage of Chicago murders committed with handguns has averaged about 40% higher than it was before the law took effect.

Now Florida. Since the outset of the Florida right-to-carry law, the Florida murder rate has averaged 36% lower than it was before the law took effect, while the U.S. murder rate has averaged 15% lower.

And this isn’t even all of the data. Take a look, you’ll see that the passing of gun control laws actually increases homicide rates. Feel free to check out this site, I’ve only been digging around a couple of minutes but there is a lot of GOOD information on here. I retrieved the above information from here and they list all of their sources as well.
