An attempted mass shooting ended with no innocent bystanders injured all thanks to a law-abiding Uber driver with a gun, in Chicago of all places!
An armed man began shooting into a crowd of people at Logan Square in Chicago late Friday night. After witnessing everything from his vehicle, an Uber driver with a concealed carry permit immediately responded to what could have been a horrible incident by pulling his own weapon and firing six shots at the gunman.
The gunman was later identified as 22-year-old Everardo Custodio, who is currently being treated for gunshot wounds to the thigh, shin, and lower back at Advocate Illinois Masonic hospital.
According to the Chicago Tribune, the Uber driver was in a parked car nearby when he witnessed Custodio shooting into a crowd of pedestrians at the 2900 block of North Milwaukee Avenue. The driver, who has only been identified as a 47-year-old male from Little Italy, fired six shots at the gunman and remained at the scene until police arrived. He immediately presented his valid concealed carry permit and firearms owner’s identification card.
A Georgia gun owner is labeled a hero after stopping a car thief and saving the life of the woman clinging to the hood.A Georgia concealed carry permit holder put a stop to an attempted carjacking at the Fast Track Car Wash in Smyrna on Friday afternoon.
While the victim was vacuuming her vehicle, a teenage male came out of a red van parked next to her and attempted to drive away with her car. The suspect began to speed up after the owner of the white Honda jumped onto the hood with the intent of stopping him from driving away. A Smyrna, Georgia city worker was passing by and drew his gun.
Chipotle, Target, Starbucks, Jack and the Box. One tends to wonder who will be their next victim?
Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America is now targeting Kroger, the largest supermarket retailer, and demands that they rethink their policy to allow open carry of firearms in their stores.
How as a mother, am I supposed to know if the person with a loaded AR-15 is a gun extremist trying to make a political statement or if I should duck and cover? Kroger shouldn’t leave that ambiguous”
-Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action, told The Daily Beast.
Kroger officials have given no statements indicating that they will ban guns in their stores.
Kroger’s policy is to follow state and local laws, and we have requested that all of our customers be respectful of other customers and our associates when shopping in our stores. We recognize the sincerity of beliefs held by people on both sides of the gun issue, which we believe is a public policy best determined by lawmakers.
-Kroger spokeswoman Rachael Betzler said Thursday.
Shannon Watts believes that the store should disregard state and local laws when they aren’t protecting children and families. Honestly, she couldn’t be more wrong. Allowing open carry IS protecting children and families. When a criminal comes into a store armed most people would want a good guy with a gun. Oh wait. Shannon doesn’t think they exist. Just in case you’re in the crazy cab with her, I have provided a few links below just to save time on my rantings.
- Man looks for someone to kill randomly at hotel in San Antonio. Armed citizen steps in and saves the day.
- Good guy with a gun wins in Chicago.
- Armed criminal bets citizen doesn’t have a gun and guessed wrong. (This shows that criminals have NO idea. Ever consider that they’ll think twice knowing that anyone could be carrying?)
- Armed South Carolina resident puts a stop to a possible killing spree.
- What happened in Vegas doesn’t stay in Vegas. Sorry Shannon.
- School shooter stopped in less than 60 seconds thanks to good guys with guns.
- Armed citizen stops robber and holds him at gun point in parking lot until police arrive.
Moms Demand doesn’t talk about these because well, that would make them look uninformed.
Shannon Watts also issued a statement saying that they intend to deliver petitions to other Kroger-owned stores such as Harris Teeter, Fry’s, and others. If these companies don’t enact gun bans, Moms Demand Action threatens to post open carry images on Twitter and attack via social media.
When are these stores going to stop letting some silly organization bully them on the web? I thought that liberals were against cyber bullying? Kroger is not causing any harm by allowing their customers to follow state and local laws.
According to Mechanicsville, South Carolina’s local media reports, two armed men broke into a home occupied by two females, an 11 year old boy, and an adult male. The armed men physically assaulted the two women and struck the young boy over the head with their gun. One of the suspects also shot and killed the family dog.
Woken up by the commotion, the adult male homeowner was able to access a gun and started firing at the two intruders. The suspects fled the scene. One was found dead near the property and the other was arrested soon after the disturbance.
According the Carolina Live, the surviving suspect is charged with Burglary to the First Degree, three accounts of Assault and Battery Second Degree, and Criminal Conspiracy. Honestly, I think he should be charged with murder as well.
The homeowner will not be facing any charges.
Yet again, a good guy with a gun saves the lives of loved ones. This just goes to show, guns are not evil. It is the people who are carrying them. If put in the exact situation, wouldn’t you want a gun to save your life as well as your family’s?
We’ve all heard of the spike in gun violence in Chicago. Over the holiday weekend, 14 died and 82 were shot and injured. Anti-gun loons jump at the number of shootings and scream that this has to do with the lax gun laws.
But what is missing here? Oh, right. The LEGALLY armed citizen who stopped a violent attack. Do you see that in the news? Do you see that on CNN, Huffington Post, or any other major news source for that matter? Of course not, because that doesn’t support the anti-gun agenda.
Basically, some thug got mad that someone moved his drink from the top of their car and he started threatening them.
One of the victims had noticed a cup of liquor on top of her vehicle and asked attendees of a party next door who it belonged to, Hain said.
When she removed it, Denzel A. Mickiel approached her, shouting obscenities and threatening her and her friends, according to Hain and court records.
Mickiel, 22, went into the residence, returned with a gun and began firing at the group, she said.
The ‘victim’ was also an active member of the military. He retrieved his gun and took cover, firing at Mickiel and hitting him twice.
Mickiel was taken to the hospital in critical condition and remains there. If he survives, he’ll be facing attempted murder charges and has been ordered held on $950,000 bail.
Bravo. I honestly LOVE hearing stuff like this. Get these street thugs quivering in their boots. They don’t expect you to fight back, so you have an advantage when you do. Why? Because they don’t want to get shot! The more this happens, the less violence will we see on the streets.
