Citizen holds man at gunpoint after seeing him swing knife in fight

SALT LAKE CITY — A civilian risked his own life to save a man from being attacked by a suspect with a knife in Salt Lake City.

The incident occurred on March 17 at the intersection of North Temple and 800 West.

“I was just in my car on North Temple, I saw a guy pull a knife on another guy, a fight ensued, the guy with the knife was swinging it several times at the unarmed person,” said Nick, the civilian, who declined to give his last name.

  1. This man should have been arrested for what he did. If any idiot pulls a gun on me like that, whatever the circumstances, he will be dead…immediately.

    • It’s interesting to me that is your train of thought. That is the exact reason why he did that; this man was trying to stab someone. Would you not be thankful if someone pulled a gun on someone who was trying to harm/kill you?

      No harm came to that man. He was taken by the police a few minutes later.
